It was good to be able to join with our intrepid home mission worker Donald John Morrison and others to hand out gospel tracts at Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow, recently. Mr Morrison arrived in Glasgow on Tuesday night (22nd July) and will be ‘out and about’ seeking to bring the good news of the gospel to the many visitors and locals who are thronging the city during the duration of the Glasgow 2014 XX Commonwealth Games. Rev Andrew Allan was inducted as minister of Partick Free Church (Continuing) in Glasgow on Saturday 3 May, after a vacancy in the congregation of nearly four years. The service, which was held in Balshagray Victoria Park Church of Scotland, was conducted by Rev William Macleod of Knightswood, who himself was minister of Partick from 1976 to 1993. The induction brings to an end a very difficult time in the congregation’s history. The church lost its minister in 2010, when Rev Murdo A N Macleod accepted a call to Snizort, on Skye.
